Some of the following websites are excellent sources to be able to help gain understanding and to educate yourself more on mental illness and on how to give a person support during the time of understanding their mental illness. 
 
Mental Health and High School
  • This website has great resources for students, teachers and parents. This website helps explain what mental illness is and gives different resources for someone to look at depending on what they need help with, whether it is someone who has mental illness and needs help in how to cope with their diagnosis or whether it is a parent who needs that added support in being help to understand and help their child with mental illness.

Canadian Mental Health Association of Ontario
  • CMHA is an organization in Ontario that focues on teaching others about mental health and to ensure everyone has equal treatment and no discrimination. This website has good information about what mental illness is and documents all the work they have done to ensure equal treatment.

Children's Mental Health Ontario
  • ​This organization looks at providing support for children and youth who have mental illness and focuses on treatment services that are available for children and youth. This organization explains in great detail what mental illness is. CMHO is a major supporter of local centres that help child and youth with mental illness.

  •  This organization is focus on helping those who have no one to talk to or are unsure who to talk to about a difficult time they may be facing. This organization is great at giving appropriate information to children and can help them get the help they need the most. Apart of this organization, they have created ways to contact someone online if a person would perfer to leave a comment or is unable to get near a phone to call.

  • This organization has a main focus of bringing awareness about mental health across Canada. They were nationally, provinically and within communities. They work along side health care providers, social workers, and community based organizations. This organization offer information on what mental health is and how people can take care of their mental health wellness.​

Centre for Addiction and Mental Health
  • Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is a teaching hospital and research centre for mental illness and addictions. The main focus of this organization is to work specifially with their clientele and recognize that not every person is the same. When suitable, the organization will focus specifically on the needs of that client and work their beliefs and culture background into the treatment program. This organization supports the diversity and backgrounds of their clientele and includes the diverisities into the care process.

Mood Disorders Society of Canada
  • This organization was launched with the commitment of ensuring those who have experience a mental illness is heard and their experience through their time is told with the idea that people can have a better understanding of mental illness. This organization main focus though is on mood disorders and provide people with the support they need during this time. They offer information on treatment plans and where they are able to get more resources to help them understand their mood disorder.

Suicide Prevention
  • This organization main focus is helping people who are having suicidal thoughts and get through the difficult time they are experiencing. It offers a way to find crisis centres for family memebers to get in contact with to get the support and help they need to help the person who may be suicidial. The goal of this organization is to reduce suicide occurances.
